The Plot: The film opens with a screw-shaped spaceship landing on earth and militant teenage men in uniforms emerge and, with a ray gun, kill a dog by blasting the flesh away, leaving only the skeleton behind. They plan to release their herd of Gargon monsters on Earth, which they raise on other planets for their food supply. Derek, the peaceful one, tries to stop them because the dog had a dog tag with an inscription, meaning there is life on Earth. The others scoff at him, and when he pulls a gun, they overpower him. The leader of the Teenagers from space takes off to bring back a fleet of ships containing mllions of gargons, and leaves one on Earth to see if it can survive and grow in our atmosphere. After the ship leaves, Derek manages to escape and tries to warn the humans who live earby that they are in danger.
Thor, one of the teenage aliens, is dispatched to bring Derek back alive, since he is the son of their leader. In town, Derek meets Betty, the girl who owned the dog; he convinces her of the danger. Thor just misses catching up to Derek, but manages to destroy a human with his ray gun. Thor is injured while chasing Derek and Betty in a car, and taken to the hospital. Derek finds Thor's gun and manages, with help from an unwilling power station crew, to power up the gun and kill the Gargon. But Derek knows time has run out and he goes to the hospital, brings Thor with him back to the arriving fleet of spacecraft, led by his father. Derek has a plan to stop the Earth from being overrun by the Gargons, but it involves him being on the main spaceship, and tricking the pilot into crashing the entire fleet into the Earth, causing a huge explosion that wipes out the Gargons and all the occupants. He fulfills his promise to Betty (who he has fallen in love with), "I shall make the Earth my home, and I shall never, never leave it." Graeff showed he had some talent, but the acting was terrible, the special effects (with the exception of the spaceship) were ok at best and Gargons were merely shadows of lobsters! It is entertaining if you are in the right mood. TEENAGERS FROM OUTER SPACE (aka THE BOY FROM OUT OF THIS WORLD, THE GARGON TERROR) has become a cult favorite as one of those movies that is so bad its good.
