When the aging Countess Nadasdy strikes one of her maids for being
clumsy, causing her to cut herelf with a knife, the maid’s blood spatters
the countess’s cheek, and she discovers when she wipes it away that
the skin beneath is youthful and fresh again. Killing the girl and
bathing in her blood, she is able to regain her youth. She then sets
about pursuing the handsome Imre Toth. She has her daughter Ilona
kidnapped and imprisoned so that she can pose as her and marry Imre
Toth. However keeping her youth is a process that needs a constant
infusion of fresh blood.
Soon the villagers become alarmed when several young women disappear or
turn up dead, drained of blood. An investigation leads to Countess
Nadasdy, and bodies of many of the young woman who have disappeared
are found hidden in her castle. She is imprisoned for the rest of her
life in her castle.
