In 1810, in a Serbian village, Anna Mueller leads a child to a castle
where a vampire known as Count Mitterhouse resides, feeding on children.
Anna's husband learns of her treachery and leads a group of angry
villagers including the burgomaster to the castle where the evil Count
is staked. Before dying, Mitterhouse curses the village and sends for
his cousin, Emil.
Fifteen years later with the arrival of a strange plague and
coincidentally, the arrival of the mysterious "Circus of the Night."
The circus is headed by an unrefined gypsy woman and Emil, the Count's
cousin. The vampiric inhabitants of the circus enact the Count's revenge
upon the village. Emil uses the blood of the Burgomaster's daughter to
revive the Count. When the villagers realize what has been going on,
they storm the castle and put an end to the satanic dwellers of the
circus with a blazing fire, including Count Mitterhouse.
