Here is a rising tombstone made with a BBQ motor. I got the idea from Spookdawg's great page with directions :

Spookdawg's page

I used a plastic cup instead of a pvc elbow and a copper pipe holder instead of the aluminum arm- mainly because I had these and didn't have to buy them. This prop uses a BBQ motor to open and close the tombstone. An ugly face peeks out from under the lid. I used a 'Living Faces' mask [very lightweight], and will add eyeballs later. I have flurescent green paper behind the eyeholes now. This glows with blacklight. I used the same thing with my Flying Crank Ghost- a little green highlighter on a white sheet of paper- it glows well ! Our sweet doggy Sparky gave us some of his white fur for the hair. My daughter Shannon came up with the C.MERISE part and the epitaph was found on the following page :

The key to using a rotisserie motor is making everything very lightweight.

My plaque looks a bit uneven in the picture. I had it only affixed with tape to take the picture. I fixed it before I permanently adhered it to the box.
