Members of Vancouver Paranormal are for the most part, people with a huge desire to know more about what is going on out "there". They are driven to try and get to the root of these strange matters. We come from all walks of life and certainly from a variety of experiences. Some of us are avid believers in a possible afterlife, others not so sure and question it all. We are young and older, male and female...Straight, gay and most of the colours in the rainbow. As diverse as our roots might be, we are united in our hope that perhaps we might be able to understand a little more than we do now,
Together we hope to bring you our best, to share with you a little of the experiences that we have had.
Be wary if the "ghost hunter" claims to:
It's your home, if the "ghost hunting" team makes you uncomfortable in any way during the pre-investigation assessment or investigation, you may ask them to leave.
There is no absolute way to "clear" a spirit or stop a haunting.
The need for paranormal research is not only legitimate but absolute. It was thought that the coelacanth had been exstinct for 65 million years. Modern scientists had written them off as a done deal...until: one was pulled out of the south African waters in 1938. We didn't know about bacteria and germs until they became visible after the microscope was invented...The bacteria and germs although not seen are very real and exist. When we look at science in general: it really does all fall into the category of paranormal research. Scientists are exploring matters not completely understood by us. Forget about words like supernatural and magical-These are Hollywood terms that really do not address the subject of spirits and the possibility of a continuance of existence. We are mucking about in the dark trying to find answers to the unknown and in this, we are scientists.
Number one question we are asked: Do Ghosts, spirits exist?
Our best answer: We really don't know. We think something is going on out there and we are trying to see if they do or not by doing what we can to explore the phenomena.
Number two question: Do strange and inexplicable things happen to normal everyday people?
Our best answer: You bet it does.
Don't wear light clothing on a ghosthunt!!! You will look spooky and then newspapers will claim you are a ghost...lol. Seriously do not wear light clothing. Wear distinctive dark clothing and stay together. White reflects camera flash and can look blurry or distorted if one is moving when the camera shutter closes-lowered room lighting or illumination by candlelight (a no no) or flashlight only heightens this misrepresentation. A recent picture circulating claims to be a ghost. We recognise the style of clothing worn as a peasant blouse and blue jeans and we know that a member of their group wears this style of clothing. We are fairly certain that the person wearing this outfit was at the ghosthunt and the "ghost" is really her. While this group may not be trying to fool people...they need to understand that white or light coloured clothes can look spooky in lowered light or if the subject in the picture was moving. This kind of camera flaw is common to sony and canon and some Nikon digital cameras. The beauty of the reflective vest aside from being a safety consideration is that in most cases it is recognizable when we are examining our pictures -(orange and twinkly??? a vest not a ghost!) it's easy to pick out and discard. Our task is to provide whatever support we can to show potential paranormal activity as honestly as it is possible to do so and not to settle for an effect because it looks "ghostly". If you have to be on a street for whatever reason then please use your commonsense and wear sensible reflective stripes and be alert for traffic. Use commonsense in that regard and stay off the road if it is active. -Watch us on live feed as we do an overnight investigation-Dates to be announced-locations (out of respect for client) kept private. Watch for links and dates and times (Pacific Standard Time).
Disclaimer: due to sensitivities and situation-not all investigations will be filmed or recorded. Date: TBA
